The different types of Zonnekind dolls

In the olden days, children might be given a piece of cloth with a few knots tied in. Our KNOTTED DOLL for the little ones, is made of a piece of fine silk, or flannelette in a plain pastel colour.

A perfectly round head is created from a piece of cotton jersey, filled with carded sheep's wool. The rest of the silk is a vague reflection of the human form, with two knots for hands if so desired.

Our CUDDLY DOLL is for the pre-school child who has just discovered walking. It is made with an attached suit, made out of soft cotton jersey. The body is soft and cuddly. The colour of the face and hands a warm skin tone. The hair is a simple style. The natural radiance of the young child can be made by creating small tufts of hair that stand out from the head. The hands should be shaped so that they appear open. This way the doll reaches out to the world around it, just like the young child.

The GANGLY DOLL is ideal for the kindergarten child, easy to carry and play with. This doll is especially made to withstand the often exuberant play of children this age. There are different sizes and it is easy to dress them, using simple clothing.

The PLAYMATE DOLL is for schoolchildren from about six years of age. It's posture is much like that of the child; upright, self-assured, directed at the world. The playmate doll has separately attached limbs, that can be rotated and will remain in any chosen position. This doll becomes more personal. For instance, it will be more obviously a boy or a girl. The hair is styled. The clothes are more detailed and place a greater demand on the child's dressing-skills. Our playmate doll comes in different sizes as well.
